Have you succumbed to the latest health craze that has everyone going nuts? I have..it might not be so new to you but for my other readers it could be something I’m turning you on to.
Acai Berries come from Central & South America and are small berries in a purple hue that mimic blueberries but have way more antioxidants. I picked up a pack of Sambazon frozen acai for my smoothies and have been using them sparingly until I fell in love with Acai bowls.
What is an Acai bowl?
I’ll admit that it is a trend BUT a pretty good trend to be turned on to. Imagine a bowl with a frozen pureed acai, loads of delicious fresh fruits, granola, yogurt or whatever healthy additions you want to add. I tried my hand at making my own and I have to say the results were kind of clutch (yeah I just used that word…so what)
Summer Acai Bowl
1 pack of Sambazon frozen acai
1/4 C of coconut water
1/2 C of frozen blueberries
1/2 C of frozen raspberries
3 whole strawberries sliced
1/2 of a banana sliced
1/2 C of fresh mango cubes
1/4 C of fresh blueberries
1bsp of shaved coconut flakes
Blend the acai, coconut water, and frozen berries together until it forms a smoothie like consistency and pour that into your favorite bowl of choice
Slice & cube the fresh fruit ingredients and place them on top of your frozen acai blend
I like to make my dishes look pretty, even when i’m just making a dish for myself. I get it, sometimes you just want to devour something but there’s nothing more satisfying to me than to have something you just took your time in making, to look presentable. It changes the experience…trust me!
